Diagnostic FAQ
Find answers to questions about your stereo if it is having difficulties. In order to save you time and money we provide this information at no cost.
Is my Bose speaker blown?
When and if your Bose Speaker is blown, you will notice a buzzing or humming when the volume is turned up past a certain point. Any other noises, or distorted sound may be a completely seperate problem.
What other things can I add to my Bose system?
Bose does not manufacture or promote aftermarket parts, however there are some small adjustments you can make to your system in order to customize it. Contact the technicians at Sound Repair for items available.
Why does my Bose stereo not work after replacing the battery?
When your car battery is replaced, your head unit and clock must be reset in order to sync up connections. Because each Bose stereo is slightly different from one another, it is best to refer to your vehicle’s manual and look for the terms “reset stereo”, “reset clock” or “reset after battery replacement”.
What do I do if my Bose head unit’s CD player is jammed?
If pressing the eject button a few times does not help, it’s best to avoid inserting any foreign objects into the drive, as this may further complicate things. Other items may become lodged in the opening, which can prevent the CD coming out until the head unit is removed and completely disassembled.
Why does my Bose stereo sound distorted?
This can be due to a number of reasons. If you have replaced any of the factory/OEM parts on your Bose stereo, including speakers and amplifiers, your head unit will not transmit sound in a way that your components can recieve. Much like how when humans hear a language they don’t understand. Other factors include broken wire suspension, cracked or loose dustcovers on your speakers, broken wires, disconnected wires, or wire harnesses that are no longer functional.
